Wild World was written and performed by Cat Stevens. When he was born he was given the name Stephen Demetre Georgiou, but he changed that to Cat Stevens. But even that didn’t last since he now goes by Yusuf Islam. Is there a limit to the amount of times you’re allowed to change your name?
But this version isn’t being performed by Cat Stevens. This is Me First And The Gimme Gimmes. They’re basically the ultimate punk cover band. Seriously, that’s what they do. They remake other peoples songs and get paid to do it. Of course they do it very well. Name the hit song from the 60’s or 70’s and they’ve probably performed it. Each album they make has a theme. Right now they’re in the studio working on a new album which features covers of country songs. That’ll be interesting.
