Opening Day of the 2006 Season

Filed under: Wisconsin News — Steven A. Stehling @ 17:35

Here are some photos of the first games of Milwaukee Hurling Club’s 2006 season. It was a beautiful day. The wind off Lake Michigan made it a little chilly for those watching on the sidelines, but on the field it felt great.

In other news, one of the founding members of the Milwaukee Hurling Club, Dave Olson, was given the President’s Award from the President of the Gaelic Athletic Association in Ireland. Dave is the first American to ever be nominated for or win the President’s Award. Dave was given the award in recognition of his effort during the past 11 years building the largest Hurling club in America and promoting Hurling in America.

  1. This post got me looking at the wiki page for hurling. What a strange game. Looks like fun, though.
