There have been assertions that gunshots were made into a florist store on King Street. The flower shop is found alongside the Majestic Theater. However, some people doubt that the gunshots actually happened. Searches for articles on the story come up empty-handed and the Madison Police Department has no press release for the shooting.

Some people believe that this is an attempt by the owner, Jane Kinney, to increase police patrolling of nearby clubs and bars. Because of the recent increase in violence, Kinney has decided to move her flower store to a location that has more retailers to prevent gunshots from entering her store again.
