UPDATE: USS New York

Filed under: National News — Steven A. Stehling @ 3:05

Here’s an update to my post about the condition of the USS New York after Hurricane Katrina.

There have been no reports of significant damage to the ships under construction at the Avondale shipyard. The Northrup Grumman Gulfport Facility is operational again and is preparing to begin construction of the Coast Guard Fast Response Cutter. Everything appears to be either on schedule or only slightly delayed. That’s good news for the company, the workers and the taxpayers, since we’ve paid for those ships.
