Hurling and Concerts

Posting has been light lately. I’ve been enjoying the nice weather. I joined the Milwaukee Hurling Club. Two of my brothers are already in club. Practices are two days a week in Milwaukee and I commute from Madison to attend. Only the practice on Wednesday is a pain to get to. I get done with work at 4:00 pm and have to get through traffic to downtown Milwaukee by 6:00 pm. The other practice is on Sunday so there’s no issue with getting there on time. I would like to eventually get a Madison club going.

I went to the Andrew W.K. concert last night at the Barrymore. It was a free concert no less. Not many people showed up. The show was sponsored by Cingular and they did a terrible job of promoting it. I found out about the show only three hours before the doors opened. It was basically a slap in the face to the bands at the show. It was still fun though. I’m going to have to keep a closer eye on which bands are coming to the area now. Anberlin will be in Milwaukee on Wednesday, so I’m going to try to get to that after hurling practice. On the 23rd MC Chris will be in Milwaukee too. I’m definitely going to that show.

A Warning To Emotional Users

I’d like to make some things very clear to the cat lovers that are visiting here.

First of all, someone has tried to make it appear that I support adding feral cats to the small game hunting list because it would be “fun” to hunt cats. My support for reducing the feral cat population stands firmly on reducing the damage feral cats do to the ecosystem, as I’ve stated many times.

Second, if you can’t write a comment without wishing harm against Mark Smith, me or any other person, then don’t waste time writing a comment. My website is not an outlet for you to vent and spread your hatred.

I’ve deleted posts from the following people that have chosen to be uncivil:

Toby Q
207.69.138.9
Roswell, Georgia
ERC GROUP

Pat Maloney
146.145.108.83
Bear, Delaware
ATX TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES

Both of these people opened the Comment Rules page, so that serves as their only warning. Yes, I can tell exactly which pages each and every user views. If either of these users post another harassing or threatening comment again, I will report the infraction to their ISP and block their computers from viewing this website.

I have no sympathy for people that humanize cats and favor them over native species. And I have no tolerance for people that make threats or wish harm upon others over social issues. If you can’t keep your emotions under control, then find some way away from the computer to manage your frustrations.

Editorial Cartoon Pulitzer

The Pulitzer’s have been divvied out. Nick Anderson wins the top prize for editorial cartoon. Let’s have a look at his work.

Those two cartoons send almost contradictory messages. This is the “best” editorial cartoonist that main stream media has to offer. I’d write more, but there’s nothing polite I want to write.

BJ’s Don’t Count

Slick WillyI had to laugh when I read this article. It reminded me of Lewis Black’s comments about Bill Clinton’s affair. “Now remember kids, BJ’s don’t count”. I remember that my Sex Ed class in public school covered the risks of oral sex. Who could forget a teacher explaining how dental dams should be used when performing oral sex on a girl? I wonder if the curriculum has changed.

Is Bill Clinton’s legacy going to be teenagers with genital warts on their face and gonorrhea in the mouth?
