Blogging: Left vs. Right

I don’t have much experience with bloggers from the left. Most of my online experience with left leaning individuals is from forums, such as TheDailyPage.com or Madison.com and other forums that are too numerous to list. I believe that the online left tends to be rude, quick to anger and unconvincing with their arguments (much like they are face to face). This would explain much of why I don’t bother reading the online productions of these individuals. Althouse and JustOneMinute share similar opinions about the online left. I’m going to make an effort to start reading blogs from the left and reply to their opinions on my blog. I’ll of course direct a link back to their argument and you can choose to write comments to their posts, if they allow comments.

If you know of any left leaning blogs, let me know. I’m specifically interested in blogs from Wisconsin residents.

Always Room for a Civil Suit

Bill Cosby The Pennsylvania District Attorney’s Office “finds insufficient credible and admissible evidence exists upon which any charge against Mr. Cosby could be sustained beyond a reasonable doubt”. Now that criminal charges are out of the picture, the money grab will begin. I believe the accusations have always been about two things. First is extorting money out of Bill Cosby, the second I’ll talk about later. Filing civil charges before or during criminal proceedings appears as blatant extortion. Just think back to the Kobe Bryant case. Whether or not it is always extortion is debatable. These accusers have been smart not to file civil charges yet. That’s a matter of strategy, not facts supporting their case.

Now time for the second reason I believe Bill Cosby has been accused of sexually assaulting these women. Cosby has made some enemies in the black community. He’s made enemies of people that supposedly fight for minority rights, but actually do nothing more than maintain an appearance that they fight for minorities. Cosby has been dealing out some tough love to the black community. He’s believes the black community will not improve itself by blaming other races or waiting for handouts. I happen to believe he’s right. He’s a strong example for the black community, but he is dangerous to politicians that have built much of their reputation upon the very programs and ideas that Bill Cosby is discrediting. I’m not sure if there was an organized strategy to destroy Bill Cosby with these sexual assault allegations, but the accusers can easily find people willing to help destroy him.

Blast or Bunk?

A blast of some kind has been reported to have occurred near Dailam in Iran. The cause of the explosion has not yet been reported. The White House claims no knowledge of an explosion and the Russian Embassy in Tehran and the Russian Ministry of Atomic Energy in Moscow report that there was no explosion at the nuclear plant. Russia is building the controversial heavy water reactor in Iran.

So what was the explosion? I predict that it is not the result of any foreign power. It was most likely caused by an accident, a controlled explosion for oil exploration or an absolute lie. I’m sure this story will be spun to undermine the United States somehow. Conspiracy nutjobs are probably busy developing elaborate stories at this very moment. It has already been suggested that it will reinforce Iran and Syria’s relations.

UPDATE 16 February 2005, 09:50
FOX News has just reported that the explosion was somehow involved with the construction of a dam in the area. Sorry no links yet. I wasn’t completely accurate with my prediction, but it wasn’t any sort of attack against Iran.

Leave Chris Rock alone

Chris Rock
There’s been a little media hype surrounding Chris Rock lately. Why? He’s been picked to host the Academy Awards. Suddenly his comedy act is more shocking? It’s the same thing he’s always done. He should not have to change his act because he was picked to host the show. They need to accept him “as is” or pick a different host.

Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaa!

Democrats have tapped the “energetic” leadership of Howard Dean to lead the re-emergence of the party. I’ve been waiting for this to become official for some time. He became the only option when all other candidates dropped out of the running. This should prove to be interesting. I’m wondering how he expects to lead the entire party when his bid to become the Democratic Presidential candidate completely collapsed. It wasn’t that more Democrats supported other candidates; it’s that his campaign strategy and actions were embarrassing mistakes. Dean did generate a swell of support in Madison, but liberals around here are easily impressed.

I normally don’t pay much attention to DNC internal workings, but this is just too funny.
